This position requires mechanical, electrical, and network troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment without direct supervision.

Commissioning Engineer 2 must follow designated installation procedures, checklists, and safety guidelines established for work areas. This position is required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and have the ability to travel.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of technical (mechanical or electrical) experience
    Semiconductor experience
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (TRAVEL, OVERTIME, physical demands, environment, ETC.)
  • Required to wear a cleanroom uniform and personal protective equipment, and work at height and in confined spaces. Will work in office and fab settings.
  • Working within a diverse environment
  • Use of mechanical and electrical tools
  • Basic mechanical and electrical systems
  • Hex to decimal, binary to decimal conversion

Control Systems (PLC, PC controlled)

  • Robotics
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • Drawing, reading, and understanding schematics

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Windows OS

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform equipment modifications and commissioning.
  2. Assist and provide on-the-job training to employees as well as to contractors or customers.
  3. Follow all safety and protocol guidelines and work with safety coordinators.
  4. Prepare daily paperwork including Pre-Task Plans, commissioning check sheets, and day end reporting.
  5. Troubleshoot and recover equipment errors.
  6. Read mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  7. Load/install and analyze software and hardware.
  8. Conduct tool performance tests and verify results.
  9. Configure tools to specific customer demands.
  10. Communicate project progress, take direction from Project Manager, stay on schedule, and provide constructive feedback.
  11. Prioritize tasks based on the commissioning check sheets.
  12. Communicate work expectations with co-workers daily and interact with the customer regularly.

Training:

  • Trainable – demonstrates ability to learn, be trained, and continually strive for improvement
  • Provides OJT and mentors CE1

  • Demonstrates strong and clear written and verbal communication skills

Technical Ability:

  • Commissions the assigned system/tool from Safety Level 1 through Safety Level 3/Qual
  • Familiar with downloading system logs and other S/W files when needed
  • Demonstrates systematic and process-based advanced troubleshooting with instruction
  • Uses judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve diverse projects

Leadership:

  • Motivates a team of two, demonstrates the ability to work within a team environment without much supervision
  • Must be able to work under pressure of customer and Project Manager(s) to complete tasks under tight time frame
  • Required to follow and understand work rules and procedures

Education:

High School Diploma/Associate Degree in Technical (Mechanical or Electrical) field is a plus
