IT Solutions Engineer – Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal customers to translate business objectives into system requirements and define an enterprise-wide technology approach within Office 365 and Azure ecosystem.
  • Perform complete, end-to-end technology assessments and provide recommendations to maximize technology return on investment
  • Work closely with internal teams to continuously provide feedback for improvement
  • Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks, security architecture standards and patterns
  • Educate, train and provide guidance for best practices to internal IT Team for long term support
  • Identify and recommend mitigations to existing and future business risk associated with current and proposed changes to technology architecture
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop budgets and timelines for solutions
  • Function as the Application Owner in accordance with industry best practices in the data center and cloud for:
      • Active Directory identity and access management
      • Exchange email administration
      • Enterprise Collaboration Tools Program
      • System and Application Software performance management
      • Process Automation Initiatives
      • Patch Management Program
      • Enterprise Backup Program
      • Maintenance and Operation Program
      • Cloud IT Operations Program
  • Performance requires physical attendance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 10+ years of enterprise IT experience
  • Experience working with compliance framework for security (HIPAA, PCI, NIST or ITAR)
  • Ability to administer and support an Azure Active Directory Hybrid environment
  • Experience with Exchange Online in a Hybrid environment
  • Experience configuring Azure Virtual Networks
  • Ability to recommend, construct and administer Azure Storage models for specific use cases
  • Ability to leverage Azure Native services in place of traditional hosted virtual machines when appropriate
  • Experience with Office 365 Products and Windows Application Delivery
  • Ability to implement and administer Advanced Threat Protection, Advanced Information Protection and, Data Loss Prevention tools in Azure and Office 365
  • Ability to make recommendations on services that should remain on premise or in Azure from a performance and cost perspective
  • Experience migrating virtual machines between on-premise environment and Azure Hypervisor Platform
  • Experiencing leveraging Azure Site Recovery services for a Business Continuity Strategy.
  • Strong understanding of Layer 3 routing and Layer 2 switching components
  • Familiarity with Administration of Veeam Backup and Availability suite tools.
  • Competence in On-Premise Virtualization platforms and data storage management
  • Constantly reevaluate infrastructure configurations to continuously approve upon the environment
  • Ability to build positive relationships across multiple stakeholders, senior leadership team and department heads
  • Clear and agile thinking and analysis that leads to win-win innovative solutions while delivering on-time and on budget
  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Make recommendations towards new and next technologies to provide enablement and a competitive edge for staff
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all systems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
