The Production Manager is responsible for the success of daily operations of multiple production departments, including Dry Finishing, Implant, Chemical Processing, Cleanroom, Robotics, and Logistics, as well as the success of the individuals in said departments. Routine tasks include mentoring Team Leads and Technicians; strategizing, implementing, and delegating plans to meet business needs; occasional traveling off-site for customer service; business relations; and customer interface. The Production Manager role is required to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times in addition to maintain a positive relationship with customers with the intent to retain current product load while promoting an increase in incoming product and projects. The ideal candidate will have a “hands-on” management-style, understanding systems and processes and how to implement them throughout all areas of Production.

This is an EXEMPT position, exercising significant discretion and personal judgment over the long-term strategy as well as the short-term execution and implementation of Company goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Strictly adhere to and enforce all company EH&S, QMS, HR, and facility protocols and procedures
  • Wearing, usage, and enforcement of company-provided PPE, company uniform, and/or cleanroom apparel as appropriate
  • Manage subordinate employees by enforcing compliance for all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures
  • Strategize and execute plan for supervisors, technicians, operators, and equipment to meet production and On Time Delivery (OTD) goals daily
  • Partner with Quality Control Manager to maintain a minimum 95% First Pass Yield
  • Partner with Environmental Health and Safety Officer to maintain safety on the production floor
  • Analyze production data and prepare reports pertaining to quality, throughput, and efficiency, amongst other things
  • Monitor and manage labor hours, including determine if, and when, overtime hours are necessary for the success of production
  • Inspire and educate production Leads and Technicians for all production assignments with emphasis on safety, quality, and time efficiency
  • Monitor supervisors, technicians, operators, and equipment to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements
  • Determine if, and when, new equipment is needed for the success of production
  • Project and manage business needs and expenses based on incoming production and work in progress (WIP)
  • Manage and approve purchases, standard and non-standard, prior to submitting to Finance
  • Assist in the hiring and training process of new production staff
  • Evaluate all performance indicators for Production Leads and Technicians
  • Manage internal and external emails to promote maximum communication and uphold high rapport
  • Assist with ISO audits and ISO updates
  • Assist with any/all additional tasks as assigned by management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and be open to shift work
  • Dependability and good attendance working assigned shifts
  • Demonstrate ambition to complete tasks in accordance with customer requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen or legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Strong, demonstrated English language skills, including written and verbal communication
  • Minimum education required (e.g. High School diploma or GED equivalency) required
  • Minimum 5-years of experience in Production Supervisory or Management role strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Semiconductor or related industry strongly preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must have DOT HAZMAT certification, or ability to obtain such certification within a reasonable time after commencing this position
  • Must have HAZWOPER 40 certification, or ability to obtain such certification, within a reasonable time after commencing this position
  • Must have proficient understanding of business financial performance principles, such as P&L, Budgets, Forecasts, etc.
  • Experience following HR guidelines and policies including interviewing and hiring candidates, training and evaluating employees, contributing to employee professional growth and managing discipline in the case of misconduct
  • Experience with LEAN principals preferred
