The Engagement engineering squad owns customer communication platforms that inform our audience about our products and offers in a fun and relevant way via email, Mobile Push and Facebook Messenger notifications on the site and Mobile apps.
As a member of the squad, you will design and build strategic technical features that will create engaging customer experiences at a massive scale. You will leverage cutting edge technologies and use AWS managed services as building blocks to move quickly, directly impacting our business and competitive position. You will use your technical expertise to mentor engineers and provide leadership on complex technical issues.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field. Master’s degree preferred
- Expert-level proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, C++, C#
- A track record of producing highly scalable technical designs
- Strong working knowledge of the following technologies: MongoDB or equivalent, MySQL or equivalent, EMR/Hadoop, AWS (Azure or Google Cloud is ok)
- 5+ years of experience as an SDE, preferably in ecommerce and/or online advertising
- Proven ability to coach and mentor junior engineers
- A burning desire to build products that solve big problems
- Easygoing personality
