We are looking for a talented, motivated, organized, and analytical individual who will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. We want to keep the focus of our engineering team (currently 10+ people) on building a quality product, without long, tedious meetings and detailed daily reports. For this role, we are seeking someone who is highly trustworthy and works well in a team.

The focus of this role is to enhance performance, efficiency, and monitor software development processes. You will oversee proactively building and implementing services to increase the efficiency and reliability of our software system.

Responsibilities:

  • Automating and ensuring system stability.
  • Monitoring and alerting on symptoms and avoiding outages.
  • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.
  • Plan the growth of Further infrastructure.
  • Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions–and then into automation.
  • Based on post-incident reviews, optimize the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to boost service reliability.

SRE qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience with Docker.
  • Know your way around Linux and the Unix Shell.
  • Experience with ELK, Nginx, HAProxy, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with working on an Agile team with a perspective on how teams work together.
  • Self-starter and able to work autonomously in a remote environment.
  • High level of professional ethics and integrity.

Our tech stack mainly consists of:

  • PostgreSQL
  • Python 3.9
  • Django
  • React
  • Celery
  • We are hosted on Aptible (a Docker-based Platform-as-a-Service), using AWS infrastructure.
  • For CI/CD, as well as for project management and issue tracking, we are using GitLab.
  • We are using Grafana and NewRelic for analytics & monitoring purposes, Sentry for error tracking, and ELK stack for logging purposes.
