Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled GIS Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex GIS initiatives across multiple departments and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven project management experience, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality GIS solutions that support organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and evaluate GIS projects to ensure objectives, timelines, and deliverables are successfully met.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including milestones, schedules, and progress tracking.

  • Establish and implement procedures, standards, and best practices for assigned GIS projects.

  • Analyze project alternatives and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Represent the organization in meetings with internal teams, external agencies, and community partners.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including reports, correspondence, and project records.

  • Support data accuracy and consistency across GIS systems and applications.

  • Utilize ArcGIS software to review, analyze, and present project materials.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and team collaboration within the GIS division.

  • Ensure GIS solutions meet compliance, security, and quality assurance standards.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale, cross-agency technology or GIS projects within government or public sector environments.

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS and related ESRI tools.

  • Strong project management skills with a focus on process improvement and workflow mapping.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proven ability to drive innovation and manage organizational change.

  • Solid understanding of spatial data concepts and GIS data management principles.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies.

  • Familiarity with Document Management Systems (e.g., SharePoint).

  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS, spatial databases, and data visualization tools.
