Catapult is currently seeking an Engineer-in-Charge.
 
Job Description:
Engineer-in-Charge
 serves as technical person at customer site and a technical advisor to the FSE's.  Coordinates, develops, verifies, and maintains technical skill level of self and all assigned FSE's and SC.  Direct technical and activity communication link to corporate for spare parts and technical skill levels and customer issues. 

Engineer-in-Charge (EIC) is responsible for meeting contractually specified availability / MTBI requirements and minimizing service down time at the site. The EIC strives to improve equipment availability, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Proactively looks for, identifies, and resolves daily issues to prevent downtime.  Responsible for error recovery, equipment repairs, and installation of any assigned CIP modifications. Assist in providing technical support and information support for all sites when required.
May report to a senior Engineer-in-Charge (EIC) or act as a Floater Engineer-in-Charge (EIC).  Attends Service/Project Meetings for his/her site to provide updates.
 
Responsibilities:

  1. Isolate and resolve complex equipment and/or system malfunctions and take corrective action. Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve the solution of complex technical problems. Considered to be a technical leader to provide mentoring and/or training to Field Service Engineers.  May require assistance with TA group.
  2. May lead or initiate and drive Continuous Improvement Project (CIP) programs and Plan of Action Teams.  Provide analysis of data and drive process and product improvements. Experience in creating and writing QA policies and procedures.
  3. Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to site Field Service Engineer’s.  Train customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
  4. Generate reports and facilitate presentations of equipment downtime, PM, calibration, and other maintenance activities.  Create and present reports, project plans, and other documentation as required.
  5. Participate in ongoing staff meetings and activities.  Represent Company in dealings with customer to achieve customer satisfaction with equipment and make presentations to customers in operational status project meetings.

Oversee personal protective equipment, cleanroom, work in office and fab settings.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customers and peers.
  • Require excellent systematic troubleshooting skills, judgment, and problem-solving skills to resolve diverse projects with ability to handle problems independently and implement corrective action.
  • Display broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based upon the priority of the problem in relation to business needs.
  • Must be available to travel as needed and be available for specific emergency call-in work.
  • Require comprehensive knowledge of basic computer language and commands. 
  • Must follow safety guidelines established for work area and wear protective clothing when exposed to hazardous materials.
  • Will need to follow and understand posted work rules and procedures.
